ATTENDR
Making Attendr easier to get started with.
A September change to Attendr’s pricing and free licence model, and the website details that had to move with it.

- WRITTEN
A look back at this stage of the project, written later from the development record. Product details describe that point in time.
The change
On 28 September, Attendr’s website history records a change to its pricing and free licence model. The local material from that update describes a free edition for up to 30 users, with a one-time licence to unlock unlimited users.
That is a record of this particular stage of the project, rather than a promise about the offer available whenever this article is read. The Attendr product website is the place to check current licensing and download information.
The explanation is part of the feature
A licence model reaches beyond a pricing table. Someone looking at the product needs to understand what they can use, what they are downloading and what happens next. The explanation needs to stay consistent as they move from the overview to pricing and then into setup.
The same day’s history includes download-link fixes and an update to the download email for the free-30 model. Those details are easy to treat as secondary, but they sit directly in the path between someone deciding to try the software and actually getting started.
One product, several touchpoints
The lesson from this stage is to review the whole route when the offer changes: the product description, pricing, download page and follow-up instructions. Updating one page leaves too much room for the old explanation to survive elsewhere.
For this personal site, the Attendr project page introduces what the application does and sends visitors to the dedicated product site for licensing. That keeps the project story useful without maintaining another copy of changing commercial details.
